Sea Song – A Music Film

This is the premiere recording of Sea Song performed by the ensemble Conceptus. The single is available for digital download and streaming now.

Australian composer Timothy Collins crafted this setting of the poem ‘Sea Song’ by New Zealand poet Katherine Mansfield. The video and single is released to coincide with the centenary of Mansfield’s death which is being notably marked in her native New Zealand. The Sea Song music film is a fully realised narrative film produced by Conceptus artistic director and tenor, Scott Robert Shaw and featuring actress Patricia Aragon. Filmed at Black Rock Sands in Wales in February 2023, the film was directed and choreographed by James Cardell-Oliver who worked closely with Scott Robert Shaw and director of photography James Paisley Chapman to interpret Mansfield’s poem.
